Passport Services

 

With effect from 1st June, 2011 the High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur has outsourced following Passport and Other Consular Services in Malaysia to M/s VFS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. Accordingly a Passport and Other Consular Services Application Centre (PCSAC) will be operated by M/s VFS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur. (Please note that till 31 May 2011, all applications for Passport and Other Consular Services would continue to be received in the High Commission of India.)

2.   Following services will be offered by PCSAC.

Passport Services

  • Issue of a new passport
  • Re-issue of passports
  • New passports in lieu of lost of Passport and damaged passport cases
  • Change of personal particulars on the passport
  • Change of appearance (applicant to visit the High Commission for physical verification).
  • Cancellation of passports
  • Endorsement of ECNR

Other Consular Services

  • Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
  • Marriage Certificate
  • Birth Certificate
  • NRO certificate
  • Attestation of Driving License
  • Attestation of Affidavit for obtaining child passport in India
  • Endorsement of ECNR
  • Attestation of Power of Attorney/ legal documents

3.       Diplomatic and Official passports applications will continue to be received at the High Commission as per the established procedure between 0930 hrs and 1200 hrs on all working days.

Passport Services:       

  • Fresh Passport/ Re-issue of Passports/Renewal of Passports
  • Duplicate Passport in lieu of lost/ damaged passport
  • Emergency Certificate – Applications for Emergency Certificate will be accepted only at High Commission of India, No. 2 Jalan Taman Duta, off Jalan Duta, 50480, Kuala Lumpur.

Place and Time of submission – Applications for Passport services will be received at following address on all working days from Monday to Friday except public holidays from 0830 hrs to 1330 hrs. (Please note that till 31 May 2011, all applications for Passport  Services would continue to be received in the High Commission of India.)

Processing time and collection

  • Passports – Collection between 1500 hrs and 1700 hrs on the 4th working day from date of submission of application at PCSAC. However, after seven working days, if passport is not collected by the applicant from PCSAC, then he/she has to collect the same from the High Commission of India, No. 2 Jalan Taman Duta, off Jalan Duta, 50480, Kuala Lumpur.

Lost Passports/Damaged passports in normal cases will be delivered between 1630 hrs and 1730 hrs on all working days at the High Commission only after 30 days of receipt of applications.

(i) Fresh Passport/ Re-issue of Passports: 

  • Application Forms (click here for application form for passport (EAP-1).

  • Charges – RM 165.50/- for 36-pages booklet with validity of ten years, and RM 203.50 for 60-page booklet with validity of ten years. RM 107.50 for separate Passport for a minor for a validity of five year.

  • Supporting Documents:

    (i) Xerox copy of the Passport (first two pages, latest visa page and the last page) with the Original Passport
    (ii) Four coloured Passport size Photograph with a white colour background.

(ii) Duplicate Passport in lieu of Lost Passport/ Damaged Passport:

Processing time and collection – Passports in lieu of lost Passports/damaged passports in normal cases will be delivered between 1630 hrs and 1730 hrs on all working days at the High Commission, only after 30 days of receipt of applications.

Charge – RM 487 + RM 3.50 service charge for 36-pages booklet and RM 545 + RM 3.50 service charge for 60-pages booklet.

iii) Emergency Certificate:

Documents required:

  • Application Form (click here for application form (EAP-1)
  • Statutory Declaration form for Emergency Certificate - click here for form
  • Copy of Police report along with a receipt for payment of fee in cases where the passport is lost or Damaged/expired passport in original.
  • Copies of passport and confirmed air ticket

Where to apply – High Commission of India, No. 2 Jalan Taman Duta, off Jalan Duta, 50480, Kuala Lumpur.

Time of submission – 9:30am to 12 Noon (Monday to Friday)

Processing time and collection –  EC will be issued after verification from the concerned authorities in India.
