Under the ITEC programme, trainees nominated by the Malaysian Government are provided with airfare, tuition fee, accommodation and living allowance by the Government of India. The ITEC programme is administered by the Ministry of External Affairs, India.

Malaysia has been allotted 30 slots under ITEC. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia, the Public Service Department of Malaysia, and the Economic Planning Unit (EPU), Malaysia, are the nodal agencies for seeking nominations to attend training programmes in India sponsored under ITEC.
