In remembrance of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and to honour the veterans of the Indian National Army (INA), the High Commission of India and Netaji Service Centre have jointly organized a felicitation function for the INA veterans in Malaysia on Tuesday, 18 August 2009 at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Auditorium of the High Commission.  Y.B. Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam, Minister of Human Resources, Malaysia, was the Guest of Honour at the function. The event also featured a special performance by the Temple of fine Arts.

Apart from the INA veterans, the felicitation function was attended by a large gathering including Tan Sri Murphy Pakiam, Dato Dennison Jeyasuria, Tan Sri Ajit Singh, Datin Paduka Mangalam, Dato Dr. Achaiah Kumar Rao, Dato’ Prof. Joseph Adaikalam, Heads of Missions from Pakistan and Sri Lanka, CEOs of industry, members of the press and media, prominent personalities from political, cultural and social organizations etc.

The gathering was addressed by Dato L Krishnan, President, Netaji Service Centre, INA veteran, Mrs Rasammah Bhupalan, INA veteran, and H.E. Mr Ashok K.Kantha, High Commissioner of India.  The keynote address was delivered by the Guest of Honour. The 24 veterans of the INA were honoured on the occasion by the Guest of Honour in presence of the High Commissioner Shri. Ashok K. Kantha.
